Features:
Sloping roof, exposed brickwork, use of traditional doors, windows and columns, terracota roof sloping verandahs on two faces, wooden rafters and joinery.
Design Brief:
Vernacular type of architecture using traditional doors, columns and sloping roof
Design Intervention:
Dwelling unit inspired from form of tent for client who is a mountain climber. The solidity and firmness along with sense of tranquility that the house emanates is inspired from the personality of the client and our interpretation of it.
Our take away:
We learnt the nuances of using woodwork for structural joinery of the roofs and the aspects of pouring concrete on reinforcements arranged in a slope!
